Once an employee screening test has indicated a positive result, this must be confirmed by an accredited laboratory using a gold standard confirmation technique from a chain of custody blood or urine sample taken by a suitably trained person.

For companies with an occupational health department, a suitably trained technician with an accredited employee screening sample collection kit can take the urine or blood and forward it to the laboratory. Other companies can use a Dtec contracted professional sample collector who arrives within two hours, 24/7 to perform the collection, paper work and dispatch of the sample to the laboratory. The employee remains innocent but sent home on full pay.

The Dtec contracted laboratory will importantly, process ALL samples through the gold standard GC/MS and review the results for medicines and declares a positive or negative to illegal drugs, reporting this to a confidential point within the company. If the result is negative the employee is brought back to work, but if positive, the employee enters disciplinary proceedings.

Normal service is 5 working days at the laboratory but FastTrack can be requested giving a GC/MS result in 2 working days at the laboratory.

DrugID

The drug identification kit, DrugID tests solids, liquids, powders and tablets but is not capable of wiping surfaces or screening people like the DrugWipe .

EDIT DrugID Cocaine is UK Home Office approved for use as a Drug Test Kit. DrugID Opiate, Amphetamine and Meth Amphetamine are being finalised .

DrugRead

DrugWipe can be easily and intuitively read with its pregnancy test style bright red quality control line and separate result line for each drug.

However, if an electronic reader is required, then DrugRead will fulfil this function and provide an electronic result out put. A number of variants have been supplied to governments requiring not just the automated read out, but additional functions such as time, date and GPS location.

The Dtect range of urine testing kits will provide suitable equipment for those that require on site urine screening from “dip” tests or “in-cup” devices.

DrugCon

DrugCon is used to covertly take large volumes of air and detect minute vapour traces of illegal drugs and tobacco. This is particularly useful with steel shipping containers and large air tight transport trailers.
